Procurement Category Manager

Strong and strategic negotiator – offshore, marine or industrial plant building

On behalf of our client, we are recruiting a Procurement Manager with experience from offshore, marine or industrial plant building.

Your main tasks and responsibilities

Your overall responsibility is to continuously optimize and achieve the lowest possible total cost of ownership (TCO) and ensure minimal contractual and commercial risks for our client, while taking quality, risk, environmental and social aspects into due consideration.

  • Responsible for strategic and tactical contracts, long term category strategy development and execution for key sub-categories.
  • Active collaboration with internal stakeholders in identifying and carrying out selected procurement projects.
  • Leading the preparation, and executing negotiations in cross-functional teams, and finalizing frame agreements with selected suppliers.
  • Supporting the business from developing the strategy to identifying the demand and scope.
  • Responsible for the entire tender process – from supplier evaluation, signing the contract with the selected supplier to the ongoing contract management.
  • Managing and working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring excellent communication and engagement management.

Your educational background is a BA or master’s degree within engineering, marine engineering or business. Furthermore, there are the following requirements:

  • Fluent in English, oral and in writing. Danish is not a requirement.
  • Candidates with more than five years of experience within strategic procurement and sourcing are preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of tender process. The right candidate has developed negotiation strategies and completed the actual negotiations.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of tender process, execution and negotiation strategies.
  • In-depth functional knowledge of supply chain management tools, techniques and processes.
  • Project management skills, including ability to develop business plans, plan a project, drive problem solving and manage a project team.
  • Project procurement experience, in either CAPEX procurement, Maker’s Management or cost reduction programs.

You are a person with excellent interpersonal skills. It is crucial that you have the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and across cultures. You have an international mind-set and are able to work in a culturally diverse environment.
